GSA has a long tradition of leading the Federal Government in Information Technology Thought Leadership. We were the first agency to provide access to the internet from every desktop in the mid 90s, the first to move to the Cloud for email and collaboration in 2011, and the first to deploy a national social network within the Agency to connect our people,
processes and data. Modern Information Technology systems and solutions are core to our ability to effectively serve our partner Agencies and the American People.
As we look to the future, its essential to adopt modern, open IT principles as foundational elements within GSA. To this end, the GSA Chief Information Officer recently issued an agency-wide policy outlining several key “IT Principles” to guide development and enhancement of IT solutions within GSA. You can read more about them on the Around the Corner Blog. These IT principles will ensure that GSA continues to invest in modern, open, flexible and Intuitive Information technology that supports GSA’s mission, and allows us to deliver the best value in real estate, acquisition, and technology services to government and the American people.
