Earth Day represents an opportunity to reinforce GSA’s commitment to increasing the environmental performance of its real estate portfolio, communicate sustainability achievements and raise awareness on what actions building occupants can take to contribute to sustainable building operations. Many GSA regions highlighted Earth Day this week with a sustainability signage campaign communicating the importance of reducing energy and water consumption, as well as reducing waste.  Several electronic waste events were also held throughout GSA regions, linking federal agencies to local electronic waste recyclers to properly dispose of excessed government-owned electronics.   Regions also hosted Earth Day fairs and green building tours, and were recognized for their leadership in energy efficiency.
