On June 12, GSA launched its mobile platform, m.gsa.gov.

GSA continues to lead with innovation with the launch of its mobile site. Now, federal partners, vendors, and most importantly, the American people, can access m.gsa.gov anywhere, anytime on their mobile devices.

Using Google Analytics, GSA’s Enterprise Web Management team noted a steady increase in traffic to the current full site, www.gsa.gov, from phones and tablets.  In 2012 we created a survey that assessed users’ reasons for visiting www.gsa.gov from their mobile devices and found that per diem and travel information topped the list. Putting information like this at users’ fingertips provides convenient access to critical updates and helpful guidance.

The “information architecture” of our mobile site has been shaped by analysis of the top pages accessed specifically by mobile devices. We then refine that content plan with GSA’s agency priorities and industry best practices for presenting mobile content.

Ongoing analysis and testing will allow GSA to streamline mobile content and give users the information they need most. The launch of m.gsa.gov furthers the Administration’s Digital Government Strategy, an effort to transform public-facing government services in line with 21st century expectations.
