GSA New England Regional Administrator Bob Zarnetske, GSA Associate Administrator of Small Business Utilizations Jerome Fletcher, and SBA New England Regional Administrator Seth Goodall recently teamed up with U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) to host the 2nd Annual Massachusetts Business Matchmaker event held in Framingham, Mass. GSA, SBA and Senator Warren welcomed more than 350 participants representing federal agencies, prime contractors, and small businesses from throughout the commonwealth.
The Massachusetts Business Matchmaker event provided a forum for contractors and government agencies to meet one-on-one with qualified small business owners, and allowed small businesses to highlight their services and goods. Additionally, workshops were offered on topics including securing federal and state small business certification, obtaining surety bonds, seeking growth capital, and developing a business pitch. Several matchmaker participants expressed their appreciation for such a well attended event and commented that their businesses were very likely to benefit in a big way.
At the event, Regional Administrator Zarnetske emphasized that GSA is a strong advocate for small businesses, and that one of the agency’s major focuses is promoting increased access to the federal market. Other GSA leaders talked with the participants about how to take advantage of business opportunities with the federal government.
