Many of you have heard us talk about the Acquisition Gateway within the GSA.gov blog. Let’s take a minute to cover the basics. What is the mission of the Acquisition Gateway tool? To be THE workspace for the government acquisition professional. Our vision is to simplify, accelerate and improve HOW the federal government selects and buys products and services.

Since launching the Acquisition Gateway in 2014, acquisition professionals have a single place to go for the tools and digital services that they need for success. Continuing to improve the interactivity and usability of the tools and resources available to the user is our goal, while also looking to launch new tools that evolve the way in which an individual approaches their job.

So, where are we today?

Federal agencies are acting as one community on the Acquisition Gateway. They find unbiased comparisons of government-wide acquisition solutions, share best practices, and buy smarter.

  • Over 12,000 Registered Federal Users
  • Public Users have accessed the site over 20,000 times
  • 292 samples in the Document Library
  • 233 Government Contract Vehicles in Solutions Finder
  • Over 1,000 pieces of Content (expert articles, lessons learned, templates and more)
  • Over 235,000 searchable RFIs / RFQs

We’ve taken the time to really listen to our users. A user-driven redesigned Acquisition Gateway homepage recently launched. The Document Library was expanded to over 50 content types to include Statement of Works, source selection plans, award letters and more. The highly collaborative Project Center now allows individuals to work across government on acquisition projects, developing milestones, sharing content and more. We continue to look for opportunities to engage Small Business with the launch of the Forecast of Contracting Opportunities. We are using the feedback that we get from our user base to drive procurement forward into a new working environment.

Where do we go from here?

We want you to use the Acquisition Gateway to collaborate and share information with your colleagues. You can share your best practices, sample documents, and key successes on the Gateway and help others navigate the acquisition process. In fact, the Acquisition Gateway is hosting its first-ever Content Drive from March 1 – 31, focused on enhancing the availability of quality materials across key content types. Let’s work together to support the acquisition community.

You can share content using this form or via email at gateway_content@gsa.gov. All documents submitted will go through a thorough review process before being posted to the Acquisition Gateway. Our goal for this drive is to provide more than 125 new pieces of quality content for federal users.

Over the coming months, we’ll be sharing the new enhancements that we have coming for the Gateway, as well as new tools that will be launching. Be sure to check in the Gateway for the latest updates, while I also work to keep you updated via this forum.
