On May 30, 2109, twelve high-performing GSA employees graduated from the Federal IT Leaders Program. David Shive, GSA’s CIO, attended the ceremony to personally congratulate each honoree.

“Events like these are one of my favorite parts of this job. It remains a priority of mine to recruit and retain a talented workforce. Investing in leadership training, like this program, allows our existing employees to stay engaged and to further develop the skill sets needed to help solve some of GSA’s biggest technology and management challenges.” – David Shive

Federal IT Leaders is an 8-month leadership program managed by the Partnership for Public Service. Led by expert instructors and coaches, the program combines classroom sessions and experiential learning opportunities to teach best-in-class leadership principles. Throughout the course, participants applied their leadership skills to real-world challenges that agencies face every day.

Our GSA grads gained skills in:

  • Self-Awareness and Discovery
  • Leading and Motivating Others
  • Driving Innovation
  • Leading Across Agency Boundaries
  • Public Service and Synthesis

Federal IT Leaders is just one of the ways the GSA invests in developing our employees. Initiatives such as the Emerging Leaders Program and Presidential Innovation Fellows reflect GSA’s focus on our strongest asset – our people. Helping employees reach their fullest potential is critical to our culture and our ability to innovate.

If this sounds like an environment you’d thrive in, join us! Students and recent grads are welcome.
